Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God
Another of Christ’s titles is The Lamb of God
The first hint of the Messiah being the Lamb was by Abraham in Genesis 22. When he takes Isaac to the mountains of Moriah to sacrifice the latter (the same mountains where Christ was later crucified), he tells him that “God Himself will provide the Lamb.” Later, after the Angel of the Lord calls down to him to halt the killing of Isaac, a ram is caught by its horns in the thorns nearby.
God does indeed provide the Lamb. In John 1, John the Baptist, declare upon seeing Jesus,
“Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”
Tomorrow I will share about the Victorious Lamb of God.
The Agnus Dei ornament is available in wood or acrylic, and in different styles.
