Faith, A Sure and Steadfast Anchor of the Soul

Numerous times throughout Scripture we are told how necessary it is for us to have faith. Indeed, about Father Abraham it was declared, "Abraham believed God and it was reckoned unto him as righteousness. (See Genesis 15).

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, where Jesus has gone as a forerunner on our behalf (Hebrews 6:19-20a ESV)

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6 ESV)

Today we reflect on the importance of our believing God's Word. For me, a large part of doing that, is exactly what we are doing with the Christmons - reflecting on the Old Testament and how it comes to fulfillment in the New Testament. There is no other religion in the world that has prophecies from centuries back fulfilled in the life and work of one Person, Jesus the Christ.

The anchor is the ancient symbol of faith for the Christian.
